2018 June Harp Concerts and Healing Harp

Dear friends of harp music, for those of you who know me well, you know that my summers are filled with music! I am the harpist for the Missouri Symphony - an international festival orchestra that pulls musicians from all over USA to come to make Columbia their home for next 6 weeks during the Hot Summer Nights festival.  It's an incredibly talented group of musicians and I am honored to be a member and only one of the handful of local players. Our musicians arrived 2 days ago and we are ready to perform our first concert tomorrow Thursday June 7th, at 7pm at Stephens Lake Park. It's a free concert, family friendly, bring a blanket or a folding chair to sit on. After we kick off the season, a roller coaster of concerts will last next 6 weeks. We have  masterworks concerts, pop concerts, free family concerts,  tours and free outdoor concerts around Columbia, Patriotic Pops, fully staged opera - La Boheme, Silent Movie with live orchestra performing music to it and I am probably forgetting a bunch. It would take me an hour to just list them all. But I am really looking forward to playing with Missouri Contemporary Ballet this Saturday, Oscar Night at the Movies concert, La Boheme of course and Dvorak's New World Symphony. Please check out our full season at  http://themosy.org/hot-summer-nights-2018 and also check out these posters bellow. Most of the concerts are at the Missouri Theatre, so when you walk by pick up our flyers and brochures. Have a great...

2018 May Harp Concerts and Healing Harp

Dear friends of harp music, I would love to invite you to a very special Harp and Healing service that we have planned to close our season with before we part for the summer. Harp and Healing is 45 minute long service of live harp music creating a healing ambiance in a quiet sanctuary. Tim Carson has inspirational readings between the songs, Tim brings a very special aspect to this service and I truly couldn't do this without his support! H&H happens every month, but this time we have a very special guest - artist Vesna Delevska from Saint Louis is joining us to live paint. Vesna specializes in painting to live music and I had a privilege to play for her in her gallery in February. I am so glad she accepted our invitation and you will be able to experience her artistry. Since this is the last Harp and Healing of our 7th season we decided to celebrate it with some lemonade and cake in the Fellowship Hall following the service. Vesna's finished painting will be on display and available for purchase through Silent auction. She is also bringing some additional paintings that will be displayed. Please check out Vesna's website www.vesnadelevska.com Whether you consider coming for the healing atmosphere or relaxation, please join us, it's free and open to everyone! One of our attendees described it as " the massage for the soul"  :-) I have been invited on several shows to promote this special Harp and Healing, here are the links, if...

Dear friends of harp music, January went by very fast, I haven't been in touch as this month is not a big performing month, but rather a time for networking, advertising and evaluation. I attended 2 wedding shows and taught a masterclass and  performed at the American Harp Society Chapter in Kansas City, I have been updating my website and my professional Facebook page. If you can, please take a look and like Maria Duhova Trevor - Harpist. Also in this ending month, Harp and Healing got a lot of attention, which was really special! 2017 October Harp Concerts and Healing Harp

Dear friends of harp music, we decided to devote tomorrow's Harp and Healing service to the victims of Las Vegas shooting and their families, hurricane Harvey, Irma and Maria victims, earthquake victims in Mexico and healing of the nation. Our hearts are heavy, please join us at 5.30 pm at the Loft of Broadway Christian Church or join us in prayer at home. ( Harp and Healing is a monthly service, first Tuesday of each month) I would like to add this quote that resonates with me today - "This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devoutly than ever before." Leonard Bernstein In days of such heartbreaking news, I am a little hesitant to share my good news, but since this is my monthly newsletter, I would like to include it. I have been working on my new CD - Romantic Harp for a while, recording last fall and this spring, then listening to edits, working closely with my graphic designer on the cover, filling out bunch of forms and  finally uploading and ordering the printing. This past weekend my new CDs finally arrived! I really like the final result, this is the CD that many people have been asking me to record, music that I have played as background to many events. I chose my favorites such as All I ask of You, Scarborough Fair, Unchained Melody, Love theme from the Godfather, Think of me, I'm happy to just dance with you, Lara's theme from Doctor Zhivago and others. It makes a great background to a romantic...
