December 2020 Newsletter

Dear friends of harp music,
I want to wish you a beautiful Advent season and hope that my harp music can help you create festive atmosphere in your homes.
It has been a year since I released my third album – Christmas Harp. Christmas music is special. Just like treasured family ornaments come out of the boxes and are carefully placed on the Christmas tree, mom’s best china placed on the dinning table, treasured recipes past from generation to generation, Christmas music comes out as well. There is something magical about it that helps us get into the festive spirit year after year!
So if you don’t have my CD yet or you already lost it, I have a few! If you are interested in a physical copy, let me know and I am happy to mail it to you or have it available for pick up. It makes for a great present too! My CDs are also available for sale at the Music Suite on Providence. If you prefer a digital version, all my CDs are on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, YouTube, Deezer, just search for my name. Thank you for listening!
I am excited to say that I will play a live concert tomorrow night ( Friday Dec.4th ), which is a rare occasion right now! It’s part of Odyssey Chamber Music Series. Audience is very limited and by invitation only, so don’t head out just yet, but watch it at home! The concert premiers tomorrow at 7pm, but the video will be available on the weekend as well. My husband and I will be playing a couple of cello and harp duos – The Lord’s Prayer, Messiaen’s Praise to the Eternity of Jesus, I will play some Christmas solos as well and Novelette by Sibelius with violinist Holly Piccoli. Here is the link to view it:
Holiday Sparkles will be live streamed at: https://youtu.be/ZGk3Le-htMY
I also want to share with you Blue Christmas, it is an annual Harp and Healing special that happened as virtual event on this past Tuesday. December can be especially hard for those who are experiencing loss, illness or hardship. This is a joyous month, yet for some quiet reflection and healing is needed. Blue Christmas is here for you for that reason.
The service is available for viewing here: https://youtu.be/XyZMrzK0L5k
Another virtual event I would like to share with you is an annual Holiday Home Tour organized by Missouri Symphony League of which I am a member.
Since 1984 the Missouri Symphony League Holiday Home Tour has become a special time for family and friends to gather together and start their celebration of the holiday season. For the first time, due to COVID-19, we have chosen to forgo an in-person tour and replace it with a video tour of three gorgeous homes, decorated to celebrate the season. This year’s tour features an All-Star lineup chosen to appeal to music and sports lovers alike. Commerce Trust Co. and MSL are proud to feature the homes of notable sports figures: Norm Stewart, Gary Pinkel and Atiyyah Ellison.
For more information and tickets please visit: https://themosy.org/holiday-home-tour/
This Christmas Eve I will be playing live for services at the United Methodist Church again! I will also contribute virtually to Christmas Eve service at Broadway Christian Church. Finally this year I can be at two places at once!
I am also playing some small private and corporate events and wedding ceremonies. Virtual events are becoming more frequent now, I will be playing virtual Christmas concert for a company here in Columbia, whose employees are all working from home. I played a virtual birthday concert in November and despite the fact that we were all separated by hundreds of miles, the gathering felt very close and intimate.
If any of this interests you and gives you some ideas to add a Holiday cheer with my music to your family’s virtual gathering, contact me!
For new pictures and harp videos, please follow me on social media. I will be posting a different Christmas Carol video each day in December – 25 Carols of Christmas!
