2017 June/July Harp Concerts and Healing Harp
Dear friends of harp,
I apologize for not sending an email beginning of June. As many of you know, I am always very busy playing with the Missouri Symphony each summer along with playing lovely weddings on Saturday afternoons.
Our Hot Summer Nights music festival is half way through, but I still want to share remaining concerts with you. I hope you can come to some or all, I am involved in most of them.
Tomorrow- Wednesday June 28th – silent movie – Safety Last with live orchestra performing the score. 6.30pm Missouri Theatre
Saturday, July 1st, always one of the most popular concerts of our season – patriotic Pops. 7.30, Missouri theatre
Monday July 3th, orchestra member close and personal – performing chamber music at 7pm, Broadway Christian Church
Tales and Scales – Wednesday, July 5 at 6:30 at Daniel Boone regional library. Small group of musicians from Missouri symphony will be performing music along with stories for our youngest fans
Saturday, July 8 violin solo West Tessa lark will be playing better than his violin concerto and the orchestra will play Oberon overture and symphony number one by Jean Sibelius, 730 Missouri Theatre
Monday, July 10 is another chamber music recital at Broadway Christian Church at 7 PM
If you have kids, they will love our family concert on Wednesday, July 12 at 6.30pm at the Missouri theater. Family concerts are free! This one is called Let’s build an orchestra and children will learn about instruments, every child will get to conduct, and there is an instrument petting zoo following this concert.
On Friday, July 14 we have a Pops concert called Rock on! From the Eagles to Elton, Aretha to Queen, three guest artists perform the greatest hits from the 1970s and 80s. Dan Domenech from Rock of Ages, Morgan James from Motown, and Capathia Jenkins from Newsies will sing rock and pop hits with the Missouri Symphony Orchestra. Concert is at 7:30in the Missouri Theatre
Final concert of our summer season is on July 15, orchestral fireworks! Our own Peter Miyamoto will perform Liszt piano concerto and the orchestra will be playing Tchaikovsky Francesca da Rimini, there’s also a special piece that the audience can vote on between May 1 and June 16 and their favorite work will be performed in the program. Concert will be at 7:30 in the Missouri Theatre.
